Life can be confusing and challenging. There are times when we feel lost, and we’re not sure which path to take. We may be tempted to take shortcuts, thinking they’ll lead us to our desired destination quicker. However, as we’ll explore in this post, God’s path for our life is the only path that matters. We must stop taking shortcut paths that lead us astray.
God’s Path is the Only Path that Matters:
As believers, we understand that God has a plan for our lives. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This verse assures us that God has a good plan for us, and we can trust Him to lead us in the right direction.
We Must Stop Taking Short-Cut Paths Can Lead Us Astray:
When we take shortcut paths, we risk getting lost and ending up in a place we never intended to be. Shortcuts often seem like the easy way out, but they can be dangerous. We may miss important lessons, opportunities, and experiences that we need to help us grow and mature. Taking shortcuts can lead to disappointment and regret. Ask me how I know!!!
The Bible warns us against taking shortcuts. In Proverbs 14:12, it says, “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.” Taking shortcuts can lead to spiritual death and separation from God. Taking shortcuts can harm the ones we love…and ourselves. Like my granddad used to say, “The easy way ain’t always the best way!”
We Must Trust God’s Plan and Stay on His Path:
It’s extremely important for us to trust God and have faith in His plan for our lives. In Proverbs 3:5-6, it says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” When we trust God, He will guide us in the right direction.
We must also be willing to obey God’s commands and follow His lead. In John 14:15, Jesus says, “If you love me, keep my commands.” When we follow God’s commands, we stay on His path, and we experience His blessings.
Bottom Line Y’all…
When God is pushing us forward, into uncharted territory, don’t get fearful, stressed, or discouraged. Trust His process. We gotta stop looking for “comfort” and “safety” in our old ways. Those “old ways” got us into the predicament we’re in today! God knows what’s best for us, and He’ll never lead us astray. Trust His plan, seek His guidance, and embrace the new path He’s chosen for you.
“This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow.”
~ Isaiah 48:17
