Are you feeling stuck in your current situation? Are you tempted to blame other people or circumstances for your struggles?
That’s where I was this time last year (beginning of 2022). I was 450.6 pounds and I had blamed everything from fast-food joints for “making me” eat their addicting foods, to my wife for not “making me” purchase healthy foods and not “making me” exercise, and streaming platforms for bringing shows into my house that “made” me sit on the couch and binge-watch TV while eating a large pizza and a whole bag of chips instead of going outside and exercising. It was much easier to blame outside circumstances instead of blaming the true source of the issue…ME!
While it’s natural for us to feel this way (society has pretty much ingrained this mentality in us), constantly blaming external factors only gives those elements permission to control our lives and prevent us from achieving true success and growth.
The reality is that true growth and success comes from within. It’s important that we take responsibility for our own life and acknowledge that our current situation is a result of our own choices and actions. Once we accept this, we can start taking ownership of our life and begin to make positive changes.
Blaming others only gives them power over our life. By shifting the blame onto someone or something else, we’re essentially saying that we have no control over our lives and that our fate is in the hands of others. This can be incredibly disempowering and prevent us from taking the necessary steps to improve your situation.
On the other hand, taking responsibility for our own life empowers us to take action and make changes. By recognizing that we have the power to shape our own future, we can start to identify areas in our lives that we need to improve, and then start taking the necessary steps to make our lives better. This can involve setting out to accomplish something like losing weight, starting a business, developing new skills, or making changes to your mindset and attitude.
It’s important to remember that growth and success are not overnight achievements. They require hard work, dedication, and perseverance. By taking ownership of our own life, we’re laying the foundation for long-term success and personal fulfillment.
Bottom Line Y’all…
Blaming others or circumstances for our current situation only gives them permission to control our lives. True growth and success start from within, and it’s important to take responsibility for our own lives in order to achieve them. By doing so, we empower ourselves to make positive changes and create the future we truly desire.
