Over the span of one year (May 15, 2022 – May 14, 2023) God has walked me and my wife (Courtney) through a season of rediscovery. He has shown us the importance of personal development as it pertains to our daily life. First, we focused on fitness and creating habits that have helped us on our journey to health and wellness. With the success of regaining control of our health and well-being, we are now shifting our focus to creating habits and systems that will benefit our entire family. Strengthening relationships with our children/parents/siblings, building a stronger family foundation (built on Christ), taking control of our finances (instead of them taking control of us), and learning how best we can serve others with the love of Christ.
My hope is that this online blog/mission field will bless you, inspire you, encourage you, and allow me and my family to walk alongside you as together we grow stronger in Christ! Blessings my brothers & sisters! Y’all are AWESOME!
~ Mitch
What We Believe:
1) Men and women are created by God and He wants to have a loving relationship with ALL of us!
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
~Genesis 1:26-27
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
~John 3:16
2) Men and women are called to live a life devoted to Christ so they can be impactful leaders in their families, their work, and their community!
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.”
~Psalm 1:1-6
3) The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the roadmap upon which He guides us throughout our journeys!
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
~2 Timothy 3:16-17
4) Men are called to place their wives on a pedestal and serve them with the same love, dignity, and respect as Christ first served us!
“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,”
~Ephesians 5:25-29
“In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.”
~1 Peter 3:7
5) Women are called to treat their husbands with care, respect, and grace, and they should provide companionship!
“She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life”.
~Proverbs 31:12
“…and the wife must respect her husband”.
~Ephesians 5:33
“A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones”.
~Proverbs 12:4
“It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him”.
~Genesis 2:18
6) Men and women are called to protect and raise their children in a manner that will leave a Christ-centered legacy!
“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.”
~Proverbs 22:6
“Fathers, don’t frustrate your children with no-win scenarios. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master.”
~Ephesians 6:4
7) Men and women are called to love and spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all people regardless of their, race, color, or background!
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. And I have been chosen as a preacher and apostle to teach the Gentiles this message about faith and truth. I’m not exaggerating—just telling the truth. In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.”
~1 Timothy 2:1-8
8) Our bodies are a gift from God and so we should lead healthy lives in an effort to better serve Him!
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
~Romans 12:1
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
~1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
~1 Corinthians 10:31
